Music, jokes and „Hunigschlecke“ – Odix celebrates his 80th birthday

Our esteemed musician colleague Odix, also known as Ottokar Leibing, has turned 80 – and it was duly celebrated! Family, friends, and, of course, the Wind Orchestra gathered at Hausach's Ratskeller inn to offer him a heartfelt musical congratulations. The band insisted on performing in person, as Odix is not only a fixture in the orchestra, but also the one who actively plays the most instruments: a passionate clarinetist for decades, a reliable music librarian for 27 years, and – when needed – always on hand on cymbals or bass drum. A man for all occasions!

Chairman Reinhard Meyer honored Odix's achievements with a speech full of appreciation and a wink – especially when it came to his legendary 50-pfennig "Hunigschlecke" questions: "Which person in the room...?" Odix is also a fixture in the clarinet register – and is now the last male representative of his genre. It's no wonder, then, that his clarinet girls, as the "cock of the walk," gave him a very special gift: a group photo with their honorary rooster in the center – charming, musical, unmistakably Odix.

In addition to music and a good atmosphere, there was also a short photographic journey through time on the screen, during which Odix, in his time-honored style, told anecdotes from his life. A perfect evening for a special birthday – dear Odix, stay the way you are and stay with us for a long time to come!
