When the Hausach Wind Orchestray tackles something, they do it with a sense of tact – even when digging! On Friday, October 17, 2025, a cheerful and motivated group from the band met at the nature kindergarten to fulfill their nomination for the tree-planting challenge.
Armed with pickaxes, shovels, and instruments, they dug hard, laughed, and made music. Thanks to the generous donation from Ludwig Bächle, Hausach's city gardener and father of a fellow musician, a beautiful cherry tree found its place in Hausach's soil – a heartfelt thank you for that!
Of course, the musical finale was a must: the newly planted tree was ceremoniously dedicated with the Badnerlied – fittingly and with plenty of enthusiasm. And because good deeds spread, the town band nominated three other music groups, who can now take up their own digging responsibilities. We're excited to see where music will find its roots next! Motto of the day: “Where music grows, a tree also grows!”
