The Hausach Wind Orchestra….

...is an orchestra with approximately 55 active musicians.

Stadtkapelle Hausach
We play a wide range of traditional, contemporary, and symphonic brass music. The Hausach Wind Orchestra is an institution of the town of Hausach, an attractive small town in the central Black Forest (Ortenau district). In Hausach, customs and traditions are equally cultivated as a high-quality, contemporary cultural program. The Wind Orchestra is located at the heart of this cultural offering and activity and actively shapes the musical and cultural life of Hausach. For this reason, the Wind Orchestra‘s activities largely consist of providing musical accompaniment for secular and religious events that take place throughout the year in such a small Black Forest town: open-air concerts and brunch concerts, spa concerts, church events and processions, club activities, and much more.

Our conductor since 1998 has been Freiburg trombonist and music educator Raphael Janz, who has continually enhanced the band's musical quality. Our repertoire now ranges from traditional to concert/symphonic wind music to complete classical works. An annual milestone in our musical activities is the annual concert held each spring. Here, we can showcase our high musical caliber to the people of Hausach with a challenging program and demonstrate that a wind band is also capable of symphonic music. In addition, we hold an irregular church concert in late autumn, which is always very well received by the people of Hausach. Complete works such as Dvorak's 9th Symphony "From the New World" and Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks have been performed here.

During the 5th season, the town band becomes the Hausach Fools' Band and takes part in the official carnival events of the Hausach Fools' Guild. Read for yourself what the Fools' Guild writes on its homepage about Hausach Fools' Band.
